20 days after

20 days after and I finally have a post since my last post. And here it goes..

December 17, 2011 will be a marker of history in the Cities of Cagayan de Oro & Iligan. The 'Great' flood, as I term it now has swept both cities and other reported places where the Storm Sendong (Washi, its International name) trailed upon. Lives of a staggering 1, 000 are reported lost, 10, 000 families displaced and reaching 1, 000 still missing as of today. Innocent children lost and orphaned and missing, be it rich and poor, all are affected. For us, the goodness, mercy, grace of God saved us from that tragic experience but still affected, though. Thank God it was just waist-level outside the house and ankle-level inside the house. Thankfully, our house was slightly elevated that is why. Compared to what happened last January 2009, where flood also swept in our city, we were not reached by the waters. But now, it was indeed a different scenario and expectation.

Whose to blame? News in all medium, be it radio, television, the net and all have so many different opinions about whose to point a finger to. What factors were considered on why a Signal No. 2, one-day typhoon could instantly create a flash flood and fill the affected homes and kill people in just 20-30 minutes.

Recuperation. It has been 1 week and 1 day now after the historical event of CDO's lifetime. Electricity has been established in our home and to some and some, not yet. Water is the height of the need right now because the water pipelines are still being repaired due to its being displaced and submerged by the murky muddy waters. Relief Operations are the center of the action. Help is evident in all forms and from all places. Cagayan de Oro is now almost a household name locally, national and international.

Moving On. Life must go on. And it must. Memories of good will be cherished. Heroism will be acknowledged and the tragedy be left in this year 2011. It will be remembered as to having a great learning imprinted in the hearts and minds whatever we sow, we shall reap. Sow urbanization, treeless and weakened mother nature, unpreparedness and reluctance then we shall reap havoc and put people in the brink of life and death.

HEAL OUR LAND, OH LORD. THIS IS OUR CRY.

Yummy Sunday: Freshiest Buko!

The freshiest (if there is such a term, LOL!) buko I have ever sipped!
Fresh from the buko tree itself!

My thirst was directly cooled off! :)

Oh, and did you know? The Coconut water is the only natural liquid
that can be directly, I say directly be used as a nourishment Intravenously.
As in picture out a buko and have it hooked into your vein
for parental nutrition! Ain't that amaaaazing! :)

WW & TT: A Thankful pose

Taking a watery pose here in Midway beach Resort.
I remembered, that during this time, I was invited by a friend in their group
meet-up and then this was also the time for to reflect on some matters that have been affecting me emotionally. I thanked God for this day that through the still soft breeze of the sea and the crystal clear waters and the marvelous sunset was somehow Therapeutic for me. I was healed and God just spoke into my heart..to be STILL and trust Him in situations sometimes,
we just don't understand. :)

God bless everyone! :)

I Love Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop CS4 LogoImage via Wikipedia
I LOVE Photoshop. I have been lay-outing for a considerable time already. In lay-outing, I dwell more on the fonts and the designs. Truly, Photoshop is one great tool for this kind of work. With all honesty, No one taught me how to work on Photoshop, and indeed there's truth that one can learn through self-study when one will really, really be patient with it. It takes trial and error, figuring out buttons and short-cut keys, and just familiarizing oneself in it. Other than patience, one has to have a perception of art and designs, and to have the value of wanting to learn and hone one's skills in lay-outing. :) Indeed, it's not just editing pictures that Photoshop can help, like that of removing a pimple and enhancing a face to be smooth and wrinkle-free,
but the essentials of Photoshop also is in EXPRESSING one's self through making meaningful creations. :)

I formed this in resemblance of a Sunflower. LOL!
